This is a LO I designed and taught at our Brent Knoll Crop in
March 2008 using paint techniques and some real gold leafing.
I
used Maraschino, Watermelon, Thyme & Beeswax Bazzill along with the
beautiful Paisley Ombre from K&Co Mira range. The Paisley Ombre
has lots of elements that can be cut out individually to make up this
LO and I matted the three leaf patterns onto the Beeswax Bazzill to
give it a bit of a 'lift'! The flower centre was cut on the
Cuttlebug and is a combination of Thyme Bazzill and offcuts of the
Paisley Ombre. Each of the 4 layers have been gold leafed using
24ct. Gold Leaf sheets and my trusty Zig 2 Way Glue Pen in the Bullet
option. I wanted my gold leafing to look old & distressed so I
made it very random (less is definitely more with gold leafing!!).
The flower centre was layered up with 3D foam. The Maraschino
has been dry brushed with Gold paint in soft sweeping movements to
build up an outline onto which the matted photo can be placed and the
other elements added from there. The Title was cut from the
Azure alphabet die and gold leafed randomly as well. This LO is
a favourite of mine and the crop ladies all enjoyed doing it as
well...
